Zinfandel, 2014 Cloud Buster, Sonoma County

Tasting Notes

Dark, brooding, inky color. On the nose, lots of dark fruit - principally blackberry preserves - with a nuance of mint. Highlights of toasty barrel notes culminating with a dash of cracked, black pepper. On the palate it is rich and mouth filling, smooth with a prolonged and engaging finish.

Production Notes

Cuvée of every Zinfandel Vineyard we harvest in Sonoma County [BLENDED TO PERFECTION]. The Blend: 80% Zinfandel, 6% Merlot, 3.5% Malbec, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1.5% Petite Sirah [ Cab Franc, Sangiovese, Syrah, Barbara, Petite Verdot, Carignan and Alicante] constitue the remaining 7%

Winemaker Notes

We are very happy to be able to bring this kind of QPR (quality to price ratio) to our portfolio. Most all Zinfandel of notoriety in this price range come from the Central Valley, Lodi ETC, this is 100% Sonoma County, and from all appellations in this County, even Rockpile.
