Concentrated Old Vine Zin

Beautiful aromas of brambly blackberry, and spicy pepper with hints of vanilla and cedar give way to a full and tasty palate on the fruit-driven Zin.

Tasting Notes

From the moment you sniff the glass you know it’s gonna be fantastic! Beautiful aromas of brambly blackberry, raspberry, briar, pepper spice with complements of cedar, vanilla and toasted oak. On the palate, this is a spicy, tasty wine with lots of flavor leading to a lingering oak-filled finish. 98 points (tasted 8/20/15) Daryl Roberts Just wine points.com

Winemaker's Notes

This was the last harvest from the Shilo Ranch on Plesant Avenue at Chalk Hill Road....a magnificent Vineyard to say the least. These old vines were truly amazing to look at, and always yielded a huge crop, a very high quality crop. Double trellis vertical shoots with gigantic cordons made for a perfect canopy to protect the huge clusters from the intense sunlight in the afternoon. These vines were sadly replanted to Chardonnay.

Production Notes

Harvested over a two week period beginning with the upper blocks and finishing with the Nortern most lower block.
