2010 Silhouette Franc
2010 Alexander Valley Cabernet Franc:
Hand picked and sorted, then machine crushed into 4 Ton open-top fermentation tanks. Cold soaked for 7 days prior to inoculation with Syrah Yeast. Active fermentation occured on the 9th day and completed on the 17th day. Extended maceration for 1 week, then pressed off directly to barrels.
The stylistic expression of this Cabernet Franc is in keeping with those from the regions near TOURS and ANGERS in France. We hope you'll find it decidedly fruitier and lighter bodied than the "BORDELAIS" style customarily packaged in a shouldered bottle.
