2017 Manzanita Cellars Old Vine Zinfandel

2017 Manzanita Cellars Old Vine Zinfandel

2017 Manzanita Cellars Old Vine Zinfandel is sourced from both Sonoma and Mendocino County Vineyards. The grapes for this superb example of California's most iconic wine (Zinfandel) came from Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Rockpile, Russian River Valley, Redwood Valley and Mendocino Ridge. Grapes were hand picked and sorted, machine crushed and fermented in open top fermentation tanks in small individual lots and barrel aged to perfection. We blended these lots into this final bit of history, captured in a bottle.

Tasting Notes

An exquisite wine for all seasons. This lush perfectly balanced Zinfandel pairs with spicy, savory, and even sweet dishes… needless to say, Zinfandel of this caliber drinks well with or without food.

Winemaker Notes

2017 was a very trying year for the North Coast Wine Region. Most people (critics) focus on the fires and smoke, if you step back and look at the actual weather conditions you'll find that they were ideal for grape growing. The weather patterns; no rain, low humidity, warm to hot afternoons, no fog... no spraying for mildew no muddy feilds to work through, no threat of bunch rot. Unfortunately we caught fire.
